В английском языке эти две категории существительных передаются разными словами.1. to sink — топить, затопить, утопить, погружать, понижать ( относится только к неодушевленным существительным): to sink a ship (boat) — затопить корабль (лодку)/потопить корабль (лодку); to sink a test tube in the retort — погружать пробирку в колбу The enemy sank Ihree ships last night. They sank the yacht in the harbour. Boxes with secret documents were sunk in the lake. The man was found guilty of trying to drown the girl. Не drowned his pancake into the syrup.
